KANTER 54

Kanter Yachts has been building custom aluminum vessels for nearly half a century. The second Kanter generation continues the tradition of building high quality yachts and commercial vessels as Kanter Marine.

Our newest build is no exception. The Kanter 54, our client’s second build is again designed by Dieter Empacher. The 54ft keel centreboard cutter is of alloy construction for the utmost in strength and safety. Integral tanks offer the additional safety of a double hull bottom and provide an abundance of both fuel and water tankage.

The two stateroom layout with private heads is in a contemporary styling using varnished cherry and light coloured painted panels and solid teak cabin soles. The fully insulated hull and deck with diesel fired Espar heating and Cruise Air air conditioning will offer complete comfort whether cruising in Iceland or Antigua.

All of the vessel’s equipment and machinery such as the Volvo D3 main engine and Maspower DC gen set is carefully designed into and installed within a fully gas and watertight, insulated engineroom and machinery space only found on much larger yachts. Systems are installed for ease of access and maintenance, a detail that our customer’s greatly appreciate.

Most sail controls are led back to powered Anderson winches within the safety of the large aft cockpit. Quality Harken hardware, Lewmar hatches and ports and a carbon spar and Powerfurl boom by GMT will provide decades of reliable and trouble free sailing.
Launch is scheduled for late summer of 2014 followed by a journey south and beyond …..
