Cocaine haul seized aboard 43-foot yacht

St. Martin

French authorities stopped a 43-foot yacht near the Caribbean island of St. Martin/St. Maarten and discovered around 1.1 tons of cocaine aboard, reportedly worth around $60 million, that was destined for Europe. The vessel had departed from Grenada with two Germans aboard, who were arrested, and $580,000 in cash and $1.3 million in other assets were retrieved. An Associated Press article reports that a South African man and a Dutchman were also arrested as part of the bust.
