The discovery of a 20-million-ton floating mass of debris created during the Japan tsunami last March has lead to the creation of yachting cruises to view the amazing sight. The mass of debris, which spreads over an area the size of California, has only been seen by scientists up until now, according to a press release from Algalita Marine Research Foundation. Now several cruises aboard a 72-foot sailing yacht are planned to allow paying guests to cruise out to the floating mass. Trips range from $13,500 to $15,500.
