NMEA logoAfter a hiatus in 2020, the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) is happy to once again offer in-person training events for beginner to advanced marine electronics installers. Three in-person training events will be held this year in Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Annapolis. Four classes are offered in the following order during each training event: Basic Marine Electronics Installer (MEI), Basic NMEA 2000® Installer, Advanced Marine Electronics Installer (AMEI), and Advanced NMEA 2000 Installer Training. A fourth in-person training class, the Basic Marine Electronics Installer, will be taught at the IBEX Show in Tampa, FL.

“For those installers who have been waiting patiently for NMEA to begin running the Advanced NMEA 2000 Installer Certification class again, June in Fort Lauderdale, September in Orlando, and December in Annapolis of this year are your options,” said Mark Reedenauer, NMEA’s President. “We now feel that NMEA can finally offer in-person trainings in a safe environment, which will once again include the extensive hands-on training taught only in the Advanced NMEA 2000 class.”

“The very successful virtual installer trainings consisting of the Basic Marine Electronics Installer (MEI), Basic NMEA 2000 Installer, and Advanced Marine Electronics Installer (AMEI) will continue on a monthly or bimonthly basis,” Reedenauer added.
