TO HELP NAVIGATORS PREPARE, Ocean Navigator magazine will be hosting a one-day Marion-Bermuda Race seminar on April 26 at the Sheraton Tara Hotel, Braintree, Mass. This nine-hour prep session includes a full celestial navigation review using both conventional sight reduction and calculators, extended Gulf Stream discussion, weather and wind forecasting, and star and planet previews, as well as discussion of general race strategy from a navigator’s perspective. A continental breakfast and lunch will be included in the seminar fee of $275. It will be taught by two Ocean Navigator staff instructors, veterans of numerous Marion-Bermuda races. Might be a good opportunity to exchange notes with fellow race navigators.
