Island Packet Yachts introduces new line of boats

Island Packet Yachts has launched a new line of performance cruising sailboats called Blue Jacket Yachts.

The Blue Jacket 40 is the first in this series and has been designed by Tim Jackett in collaboration with Bob Johnson, CEO of Island Packet. The new boat’s design draws on the experience of these two designers in the development of a true performance cruiser.

The boat will feature either a two or three-cabin arrangement, and luxury yacht appointments and finish.

The Blue Jacket 40 will have a Solent-type sail plan including a working jib with self-tending Hoyt Boom. There will also be a large reacher for offwind use. For visibility and convenience the cockpit will be equipped with twin wheels. All primary sail controls are led to the cockpit. Hull construction features 100 percent vinyl ester resin infusion with Divinycell coring for both hull and deck.
