Ocean Navigator contributing editor Jeff Williams is a circumnavigator with tens of thousands of ocean miles under his belt — an impressive feat that shows up in the excellent articles he writes for ON.
His latest gig is pretty cool too: Williams is currently working for NOAA as a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) pilot. He is aboard the NOAA ship Okeanos Explorer, which is investigating the coastal shelf canyons along the Northeastern U.S. coast. Williams is one of the operators that drives the ROVs from Okeanos Explorer’s control room as they carry out the scientific program of discovery.
