Annapolis MD, December 18, 2012 – Beneteau announces the arrival of the new Oceanis 55 in North America, making its debut at Strictly Sail Miami February 14 – 18, 2013. Carla Demaria, general manager of Beneteau, and Bruno Belmont, director of product development for Beneteau’s sailboats division, will be in Miami for the unveiling.
“The world premiere of Beneteau’s Oceanis 55 was one of the highlights at the Paris Boat Show this past week,” reports Denise Hanna, director of sales for Beneteau America. “A number of our dealers from the US and Canada travelled to Paris specifically to preview every detail of Beneteau’s newest yacht before its introduction to the North American market, and we’ve already secured our first two retail orders,” says Hanna.
The Oceanis 55, designed by Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design, features a mast set back to enhance balance and performance under sail. The chine extends the full length of the boat to increase speed while reducing the initial angle of heel. Large windows allow natural light to illuminate the interior living spaces. The Oceanis 55 is designed to accommodate families of all sizes and is available in three, four or five cabin layouts with each offering plenty of storage space.

The Oceanis 55 will be on display February 14 – 18, 2013 at Strictly Sail Miami, Bayside. A special event for invited guests and members of the press will be held on Thursday, February 14. Members of the press will have an opportunity to participate in the Oceanis 55 sea trials February 19 and 20.
