Landing School tuition assistance program

The Landing School, a boatbuilding and marine systems school in Arundel, Maine, has announced a tuition support program for displaced workers who want to re-train for a career in the marine industry.

Workers interested in enrolling for the 2009-2010 school year are encouraged to contact the school’s admissions office as soon as possible as enrollment is limited and many programs are already at capacity.

According to Barry Acker, president of The Landing School, “As the economic climate improves, the marine industry will be in need of well-trained tradespeople to support its growth.”

The school offers five training programs including Small Boats, Cruising Boats, Composites, Marine Systems, and Yacht Design. Each program is a full-time, 10-month course.
