David Berson is Ocean Navigator's longtime nav problem writer, his work appearing on the last page of every issue. In his nav problem column, Berson always manages to wrap a good story around a useful celestial navigation exercise. In addition to concocting navigational practice problems for the magazine, David is also musician and operates Glory, an electrically-powered tour boat in Greenport, NY. He's worked at South Street Seaport and sailed many miles offshore aboard yachts and schooners like Ocean Star and Harvey Gamage. The result of that experience and his abiding intellectual curiosity is that he's a fascinating radio guest, as host Hazel Kahan discovered in an interview from her program "North Fork Works" on radio station WPKN.
