After several years of hard work, the 140-foot wooden schooner
Spirit of South Carolina is set to launch into Charleston Harbor on Sunday, March 4, 2007, at approximately 12:00 noon. The schooner will be used to provide students with education-at-sea opportunities. Of course, the event is dependent on weather and many logistics, so keep checking with the
South Carolina Maritime Heritage Foundation for any changes.
