Most of us, when pressed, would probably admit to enjoying bath toys, especially boats. The folks at BC Research Inc. in Vancouver, B.C., however, are not restricted to the bathtub for tank-testing their models.
The model below is a scaled-down version of Pacific Asian Enterprise’s upcoming Nordhavn 40 cruising powerboat, being built by Pacific Seacraft Corp. in California. While computers are involved in much of the design work, tank testing is still an integral part of the design process. The first Nordhavn 40 is expected to be launched this summer.
