Night vision for iPhone 5/5S

If you have an iPhone 5 or 5S, there are plenty of choices for phone cases. What about a case, however, that allows you to see in the dark? FLIR, the infra red camera company that makes gear for the U.S. military and law enforcement and also for commercial and recreational mariners, has announced the FLIR One, an iPhone 5/5S case with a built-in infrared camera. The case connects to the iPhone bottom connector and feeds the infrared image to the iPhone's screen. The case has its own battery so it doesn't drag down the phone's battery. The suggested price for the unit is $350. FLIR is reportedly starting to ship units this week. Look for more on this smartphone IR device in an upcoming issue of Ocean Navigator.
