The Coast Guard helped keep afloat a sailboat that began taking water 45 miles southeast of Oahu shortly before dawn on Monday morning.

The Coast Guard first sent a rescue helicopter team from Air Station Barbers Point. The chopper arrived just before sunrise. A diver brought the boat owner a pump in 6- to 8-foot seas.
The Coast Guard diverted the cutter Munro to the scene and along with the patrol boat Galveston Island.
