Blake’s schooner Seamaster now for sale

Peter Blake’s aluminum schooner Seamaster has been on the hard in Newport, R.I., for the past year and a half while his wife and surviving partners searched for a sponsor to lead Blakexpeditions on its environmental programs. The vessel is to be sold, however, and Blakexpeditions may be discontinued, according to a report in the New Zealand Herald. Lady Pippa announced the decision after a bid to sponsor a voyage to the Arctic, South Pacific and Southeast Asia failed. Seamaster sailed under Blake’s command to Antarctica and numerous other far-flung destinations, including the Amazon River wilderness where Blake was shot and killed by pirates in December 2001.
