SUNTEX MARINAS ACQUIRES EQUITY INTEREST IN
MIAMI BEACH MARINA

DALLAS, TEXAS – Suntex Marina Investors LLC (Suntex), the premier owner and operator of best-in-class marina properties, announced today that it has acquired an equity interest from RCI Group’s Miami Beach Marina. RCI and Suntex’s recent selection by the city of Miami to redevelop the Virginia Key Marina and Suntex’s selection by the City of Fort Lauderdale to redevelop the Las Olas Marina, demonstrates their commitment to ensuring South Florida is the country’s premier yachting destination. Miami Beach Marina is located minutes from the vibrant nightlife, fashionable restaurants, shops and galleries of South Beach, downtown Miami and is only 15 minutes from Miami International Airport. The state-of-the-art marina combines 400 boat slips with dockage for vessels up to 250 feet with services and amenities that are second to none.

“We continue to expand the Suntex portfolio to include high-value facilities in the most prestigious vacation destinations in the country,” said Bryan Redmond, founding principal of Suntex. “South Florida is a very popular location and Miami Beach is one of the most notable properties in the area. We look forward to offering another top-tier location for our members and visitors to enjoy the highest customer service and most memorable marina experience of their lives.”

“With RCI’s expertise developing premier waterfront properties and Suntex’s renowned focus on customer experience and systems infrastructure, our Miami Beach Marina venture ensures that South Florida remains the number one yachting destination in the world,” said Robert Christoph, founder and chairman, RCI Group.

Suntex has a proud history of philanthropy and environmental stewardship, which it will continue with its association with Miami Beach Marina. Recently, Suntex acquired the Loggerhead Marina properties, which participate in the Responsible Boating Initiative. Suntex is committed to applying those same practices to all of its marina locations. The Responsible Boater Initiative is designed as a collaborative tool to work directly with boaters and marinas. The purpose of this effort is to provide communities with knowledge on responsible boating, fishing, and diving practices in order to better protect marine life and the ocean ecosystem. In addition, as part of this purchase Suntex has committed to maintain a philanthropic partnership with the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. Providing outreach programs and educational experiences for children, Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts more than 300,000 guests per year, free of charge. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center, in conjunction with Suntex Marinas has been selected by the International Superyacht Society (ISS) for the ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Award. This prestigious award celebrates stewardship of marine ecosystems – environmental leadership, global oceanic conservation and resource preservation are prerequisites for nomination.

Suntex is also involved in ongoing fundraising events this year to support the Folds of Honor Foundation in their mission to provide scholarships to the families of fallen and wounded soldiers. At each of its 46 marina locations, Suntex asks guests to contribute to the Foundation. In addition, Suntex hosts independent events for customers and their community, including cookouts, raffles, “Dogs for Donations” and “Putting for Patriots.” This is a continuation of a Suntex and Folds of Honor five-year partnership that has evolved into a multi-million-dollar fundraising initiative.

The Suntex portfolio of 46 marinas are located in California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee and Virginia.
