Sailors for the Sea, the ocean environmental group composed of sailors working toward healthy oceans, is celebrating World Oceans Day on Wednesday, June 8, with two events in Newport, R.I.
From the group's press release:
From 9:30am to 12pm join us for an exciting Ocean Health Summit with expert discussion on the current status of our global ocean and the success story of improving the health of Narragansett Bay!
LIVE IT UP!
Starting at 6pm join us for Tiny Giants at Night: Art, Science & Cocktails! The evening event will offer a special opportunity to meet the scientists behind the artwork and learn about the beautiful marine microbes that make our ocean thrive. Tickets includes viewing the exhibit and a wonderful selection of local brews, wines & spirits and hors d'oeuvres.
TAKE IT IN!
Both events include viewing Tiny Giants: Marine Microbes Revealed on a Grand Scale, an inspiring photography exhibit created by Bigelow Laboratory that highlights small ocean creatures in giant photographs.
