In an effort to speed up entry procedures, yachts visiting Panama are now required to pre-register with Panamanian authorities at least 48-hours prior to their arrival at any Panamanian port of entry.
Upon arrival in Panama, yachts must still follow normal entry procedures, but pre-registration will help speed up the process.
A pre-registration form can be downloaded from the Panama Maritime Authority’s Web site at: www.amp.gob.pa/atraque/CaptaCartaAtraqueYates.aspx.
The completed document should then be e-mailed to the authority at seguprotma@amp.gob.pa. If e-mail is not an option, yachts should arrive with the following information in hand:
• Date
• Agent (if applicable)
• Type of yacht (sail/power)
• Flag
• Last port of clearance
• Panama port of call
• Estimated time of arrival
• Registration number
• Net tonnage
• LOA
• Radio call sign
• Yacht e-mail
(if applicable)
• Captain’s name
• Owner’s name
• Crew list with passport numbers and nationalities
• On board safety equipment and any health security, pet remarks
• Contact telephone number
