OEM Business Generates New Orders for Fischer Panda U.S.

OAKLAND PARK, FL‹JUNE 11, 2009 Catalina Yachts, Boston Whaler and Grady-White Boats have again selected Fischer Panda Generators‹this time to outfit three new models with the reliable Fischer Panda 4200 Mini Plus.
Having outfitted several Catalina, Boston Whaler and Grady-White models over the past several years, Fischer Panda products have proven to compliment both the compact design specifications and power source needs of the three manufacturers.
The boat builders recently opted to go with the Fischer Panda 4200 Mini Plus, a compact yet robust generator driven by the reliable Farymann single cylinder diesel engine, capable of producing a powerful 34 amps (maximum load).  Powerful enough to simultaneously start and run a 16,000 and 12,000 BTU air conditioner, the 4200 operates quietly at a noise level below 54 dBA @ 7 meters.
The 4200, according to Chad Godwin, Fischer Panda¹s Director of Sales and Marketing, will be installed as standard equipment in the Catalina 445, Boston Whaler 285 Conquest® and the Grady-White 360 Canyon.
One of the largest boat manufacturers in the world with over 60,000 boats manufactured to date, Catalina Yachts, founded in 1970, is recognized for its high volume interiors, efficient and family-sized cockpits and easily managed rigs.
Grady-White Boats builds 22 boat models from 18 to 36 feet. Grady-White received the highest numerical score among coastal fishing boats (17-30 feet) in the proprietary J.D. Power and Associates 2009 Boat Competitive Information Study.
Founded in 1958, Boston Whaler is a business unit of Brunswick¹s Outboard Boat Group. Whaler is the leading manufacturer of unsinkable family fishing boats 11 to 35 feet.
Fischer Panda, though its US office, offers the only true 100%, water-cooled asynchronous generators on the market. The Fischer Panda generator can cool the stator winding with nearly 100- percent efficiency due to the unique design of the asynchronous rotor that has no windings, no brushes or diodes. A conventional synchronous generator, on the other hand, can never achieve this level of efficiency because the rotor windings are cooled with air. That same air is very hot and transfers considerable noise.  The air also carries humidity and dirt into the windings, which increases the resistance and thereby reduces electrical output.
The freshwater-cooled Fischer Panda generators provide distinct advantages over air-cooled generators, in size, weight, noise and efficiency.
Fischer Panda Generators has played a pioneering role in the design and manufacture of marine and vehicle generators for the past 31 years. In 1978 in Germany, Fischer Generators developed the quietest diesel generator in the world. That trend towards small, quiet and super efficiency was to continue, and in 1988, Fischer Generators added “Panda” to its brand and introduced its proprietary and water-cooled, asynchronous electric plant. Fischer Panda U.S., which began operations in 1995, is located at 4345 NE 12 Terrace in Oakland Park, Florida.  For more information, please call 954-462-2800 or access the company’s web site at www.fischerpanda.com.
