New from Shannon

Walter Schultz’s latest blue-water design is a raised-deck pilothouse 52-footer with center cockpit, dubbed the Shannon 52 RDP. Hull number one is scheduled to launch in spring 2010.

Schultz’s new design builds on his well-known Shannon 47/52 hull and incorporates a full interior helm station for complete protection from the elements and a raised cockpit and aft steering station. According to Shannon Yachts, the sightlines from both helms offer unobstructed visibility in all directions, including aft.

The Shannon 52 RDP is available with Shannon’s exclusive “sketch” (sloop/ketch) or “scutter” (sloop/cutter) rig and with a centerboard or fixed keel option.
