There is still time to join the biennial Marion (Mass.) to Bermuda Race, which is promising to be the most successful running of the event in many years. Administrators are expecting more than 100 boats to sail over the starting line June 18. A slightly higher number of boats are sailing in the celestial class than last year, reported race organizer Faith Paulson, who can be reached at 508-748-2001 for more information.
New this year is a special post-race tactics forum moderated by Ocean Navigator’s Andy Howe. Andy will also be presenting the pre-race celestial course in Woods Hole, Mass., April 11 for racers interested in learning the basics or brushing up on old skills. A pre-race Ocean Navigator weather and ocean currents seminar will be presented April 12, also in Woods Hole, by Michael Carr and Jenifer Clark. Contact David P. Jackson, Ocean Navigator’s seminar program director, at 207-236-7014.
