This year, we are honored to announce that LifeFlight of Maine is our beneficiary. All proceeds from the event will go to the essential medical service. One that is especially relevant to yachtsmen.
Now with a worthy cause, the fourth annual The Penobscot Bay Rendezvous, August 14-17th will once again be Maine's most exciting sail and powerboat regatta of the season. Super yachts, to classics to performance racers, passagemaking power cruisers, Picnic Boats and lobster yachts are invited to enter. The The Penobscot Bay Rendezvous is a celebration of boating and boatbuilding. Featuring daily races for sailboats and a panoramic setting for powerboats, the participants will have access to both Wayfarer Marine and Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding world-renowned boatyards and will be hosted each night at a different exclusive venue. Delicious locally sourced menus, dancing and fireworks are all a part of the ticket. Cellardoor Winery, Megunticook Market, Linda Bean's Perfect Maine and The Slipway. These purveyors of all gourmet yumminess will reward you at the The Penobscot Bay Rendezvous' after parties. Our attention to food glorious food is what sets this regatta apart from all the rest! Wayfarer Launch Service will be offered to participants at no charge during the event. Please hail them on Channel 71. Dinghies can be tied up at the dinghy dock located on the eastern side of the travelift.
* This is the only officially scheduled Skippers Meeting. All powerboat and sailboat skippers should plan on attending this meeting. Once gathered, the groups will split into power and sail and meet with their PRO.
Since this regatta is an event for all levels of sailing and racing experience please know that Ted Smith, our official Professional Racing Officer or PRO, is available throughout the event to go over the courses, starting sequences – anything.
