Intellian Technologies, the world’s technological leader in marine satellite antennas, announces the upcoming release of two compact 33 inch (83 cm), 3-axis stabilized TV antennas. Shipping in March 2012, the Intellian t80 and t80W are specifically designed for use on yachts and commercial vessels requiring a compact antenna size with global satellite TV service reception.
The Intellian t80 antennas utilize a fully stabilized 3-axis platform, as well as a fourth axis for LNB auto-skew control, ensuring seamless operation in all regions. Multiple HD receivers can be connected to the system as standard, providing a truly hands off global coverage depending on the regions visited. Built-in as standard an internal GPS combined with Intellian’s patented Wide Range Search (WRS) provides the fastest satellite acquisition possible.
The patented WorldView™ LNB automatically switches frequency depending on the region the antenna is operating in; all of the switching information is contained in the antenna control unit (ACU), allowing users to move from region to region without having to manually reset the system.
The t80 antennas have a built-in DVB-S2 decoder to provide HD channels where available. For uninterrupted viewing of HD DIRECTV programming, an upgrade kit will be provided free of charge to owners when it becomes available. The upgrade of the antenna will allow simultaneous reception of Ku-band and Ka-band satellites providing uninterrupted viewing.
The 3-axis t80 has unlimited azimuth, eliminating cable wrap and the lengthy loss of TV reception as the system unwinds. Wi-Fi is included in the antenna control unit allowing simple connection and control of the system from anywhere onboard.
The t80 antenna has a broad elevation range, from -10° to +110°, enabling operation in all conditions and the cross level axis ensures uninterrupted viewing even when the antenna is operating near the equator. At 128 lbs (58kg), the t80 antenna is one of the lightest and strongest in this class of antenna. The internal shock absorption system, component manufacturing standards and ground breaking engineering make this antenna a show stopping performer for vessels that require stability and reliability.
The t80 dome is designed to complement the v80G VSAT antenna, providing customers with a compact, multi-function dual antenna solution for communications and entertainment.

Shipping now, the Intellian v80G has been specifically designed for vessels requiring a compact antenna size while trusting a reliable and high quality connection.
The advanced antenna system embraces Intellian’s design philosophy that simplicity equals reliability. With Intellian’s gyro-free satellite search algorithm, the Intellian v80G will find and lock onto the satellite without using a separate input from the vessel’s own gyro-compass. Additionally, the higher gain performance design enables the Intellian v80G to operate on the edge of a signal footprint, increasing dependability when the signal matters most.
The 3-axis v80G has unlimited azimuth, eliminating cable wrap and the lengthy loss of signal connection as the system unwinds. Intellian only uses two cables between the v80G’s ADU and BDU, by combining the BUC power and TX signal into one cable. The other cable carries the RX signal. The antenna has a broad elevation range, from -15° to +110° and a maximum roll of +/- 25° and pitch of +/- 15°.
Intellian has developed an all new Antenna Control Unit (ACU) for the v80G that supports Wi-Fi connectivity for control and monitoring of the system. A Bluetooth Connection Module is also provided to connect directly with the antenna dome making set-up and maintenance effortless.
The Intellian v80G is ideal for offshore vessels, commercial ships, the oil and gas industry, as well as mission-critical operations, such as surveillance or vessel monitoring, that require uninterrupted connectivity, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication, and information downloads where signal loss is unacceptable. The v80G is also well suited to mega yachts when owners may not have the space to install many antennas.
