German sailboat manufacturer Hanse has received the European Yacht of the Year 2025 award. Boats that were nominated were announced in September.
The awards are judged by a 12-member jury and each vessel is put through a sea trial before it is assigned a class.
“What an incredible achievement: Winning the European Yacht of the Year award with the Hanse 360 is a testament to the hard work, passion, and dedication of the entire Hanse Yachts team,” Hanjo Runde, CEO HanseYachts AC, said in a statement. “A huge thank you to all employees for making this possible — you’ve truly set the bar high. Special thanks also to our designers Isabelle and Olivier Racoupeau for their outstanding work.”
Hanse designed the 360 to blend “effortless handling with unparalleled comfort.” Highlights include self-tacking jibs and an intuitive deck layout that facilitates single-handing. The spacious interior has a contemporary feel and functionality.
For offshore sailing, the rigging works in tandem with the balanced hull to provide speed and stability when underway. Finally, the design is said to be environmentally conscious to reduce its ecological footprint.
