For a second time, global technology company Garmin will be a team sponsor for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, a 40,000-mile long contest between 12 teams competing against each other on the world’s largest matched fleet of 70-foot ocean racing yachts.
The leader of the Garmin sailing team will be British skipper Ashley Skett. The crew will use and test Garmin products such as its marine navigation equipment, VIRB action cameras and fitness trackers during the circumnavigation.
The race starts from London on Aug. 30, 2015.
