Chicago to Mackinac yacht race starts Saturday

The 103rd running of the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac starts on Saturday. At 333 statute miles (289.4 nautical miles), the race is the oldest, annual freshwater distance race in the world, and one of the longest on freshwater. The race starts at the Chicago Lighthouse, just off of Navy Pier in Chicago, and ends at the northern end of Lake Michigan at Mackinac Island.
