As part of a yearlong celebration of its 35th anniversary, Morris Yachts of Bass Harbor, Maine, will be holding its second annual Morris Boat Show in Northeast Harbor, Maine, July 20 to 22.
The company was founded by Tom Morris in 1972 and has seen steady growth since. This year it looks forward to a $1 million expansion and realignment of its boatbuilding facilities in Trenton, Maine. The company is also enjoying record sales of its Ocean Series and M-Series sailing yachts despite tough market conditions.
A semi-custom builder, Morris has chosen to exclusively build sailing yachts and works closely with sailing yacht design firms such as Chuck Paine and Associates of Camden, Maine, and Sparkman & Stephens in New York City. The company’s yachts are known for their classic lines, fine performance, quality construction, and exceptional fit and finish.
The latest from Morris is the new 52-footer, the M-52, which is in the latest stages of design. The Morris Boat Show will be open to the public for three days with dozens of boats on display.
