Two people have died during the 103rd Chicago Yacht Club’s Race to Mackinac, according to press reports in the Chicago Tribune. The two were from the vessel WingNuts, which is reported to have capsized early Monday morning during a storm near Fox Island, in northern Lake Michigan. The article says that the vessel capsized in the middle of the night, throwing eight people into the water. Another sailing vessel in the race was able to rescue six and the Coast Guard has recovered two bodies this morning. More information is available on the Chicago Yacht Club’s Web site.
