Billboard tarps become boat covers

Tarp 0

Next time you are driving and see a billboard by the side of the road, you might be looking at your next boat cover. Turns out many billboard images are made of huge sheets of heavy vinyl. When the ad has run its course, the vinyl sheets are taken down. According to Damon Carson of www.recycledbillboardtarps.com, these vinyl sheets make great tarps becuase they are typically 20 mils thick and most tarps available at home improvement stores are only 5 mils in thickness. This seems like a great reuse of vinyl that otherwise would just find its way into a landfill.

So the next time you are driving on the highway and you see a billboard you like, you can imagine covering your boat and keeping out the rain, snow and ice of the off-season.
