Baron Services Releases Redesigned Data Receiver

September 28, 2011, Huntsville, AL… WxWorx, a division of Baron Services, announces the immediate availability of a redesigned data receiver for the XM WX Satellite Weather service. The new Weather Data Receiver is used to supply graphical weather data to your PC or PC compatible device.

Some of the receiver’s major features include:

• Flexible connectivity: with receiver model WR-10, a USB, Ethernet or Serial (RS-232) connection is available. The WR-10BT model adds wireless Bluetooth® functionality, along with any one of the three wired options.

• Integrated WAAS-enabled GPS receiver: with compatible software applications, you can overlay your position on the map with unprecedented precision. For added convenience, a GPS antenna is included with the Weather Data Receiver. Support for the integrated GPS receiver will be enabled through WxWorx on Water software updates available later this year.

• XM Satellite Radio compatibility: get both graphical weather data and XM audio programming using the same antenna. Separate subscriptions are required for weather and audio programming.

The portable receiver features a small footprint and rugged design, quality tested for mobile use onboard marine vessels, planes, and automobiles. Additionally, when the Weather Data Receiver is used in conjunction with Baron’s Mobile Link device, XM WX data can be displayed and accessed on smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices via compatible apps.

Earlier models of the WxWorx receiver will operate as before, and users of these devices may continue using them without any interruption or update. The new Weather Data Receiver is available now at wxworx.com, and will be available soon at participating dealers.
