Bahati ties the knot

Bahati2

Nat and Betsy Warren-White have completed their circumnavigation aboard the Montevideo 43 Bahati. From their sailmail message off Bequia:

“Just had to let you that as of 0900 hrs Atlantic time this morning Bahati officially completed her 2nd circumnavigation….(1st time round with this crew, of course!) A momentous moment for us all, for “the old girl” (who managed to find her way to her native home in So Africa en route!) and for the more than 40 stalwart crew members along the way who helped make this dream a reality! Yahooo! Hooo-Haaaah!

“We had a lovely overnight sail from Barbados with wind on the stern all the way….15-25 knts….no squalls….and a large school of dolphin to see us off as we sailed out of Port St Charles yesterday….brilliant! Martha and Jim Burns joined Betsy and me for this leg and tonight we will break-out a special bottle of “Mt Gay 1703” to celebrate! Please join us at sunset wherever you are in the world to pause and raise a glass to a good boat and a fine crew! Thank You, Thank You…ALL!.. for your loving support and good cheer along the way…we couldn’t have done it without you!

“So, from Oct 21, 2006 to April 4, 2011…. more than 30,000nm sailed and “d-sailed”….more than 20 countries visited…40+ friends and family welcomed aboard and brought safely home again….countless fishes of all makes and sizes caught, cleaned, and eaten in various delectable recipes….many $$ and precious hours passed afloat in the company of good friends old and new….& many sweet solo hours as well.

“We do feel blessed to be back in Bequia again…on this gorgeous day in April….one of our favorite spots visited much earlier in this voyage. Home again!”
