Annapolis, MD, August 2, 2010. United States Yacht Shows, Inc., producers of the United States Sailboat Show and the United States Powerboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland, announce that Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatU.S.) has been named Premier Sponsor of this fall’s boat shows.
BoatU.S. is the nation’s leading advocate for recreational boaters providing its over 500,000 members with government representation, marine insurance, towing programs and money saving services. This important sponsorship calls for a comprehensive promotional campaign to the association’s membership. BoatU.S. Magazine, both electronic and print, the association’s monthly E-Line newsletter, BoatUS.com, and electronic email will be critical components of the campaign.
The history of the Annapolis Boat Shows is long and rich. For two weeks in October for forty years, the downtown area of this quaint Chesapeake waterfront community is transformed into a Mecca for boaters. Hundreds of new sailboats and sailing exhibitors gather to welcome over 50,000 boating enthusiasts one week, only to be replaced by hundreds more powerboat exhibitors the next. Activities for the attending boaters include daily seminars presented by a who’s who of sailing, small boat demo rides for all ages, ‘Take the Wheel’ interactive workshops, Trawler Port, the Multihulls Section, the Antique and Classic boat display and a special section of ‘Green Boating’ in the Powerboat Show plus door prizes, raffle prizes, manufacturers’ specials, food, drinks, and entertainment…not to mention boats sized 8 to 80 feet.
The sponsorship arrangement brings two long-standing boating industry icons together, joining forces to provide a tremendous boost to the shows and exhibitors.
