AEON School Named Official US Sailing Educator

US Sailing has named the AEON School its official school. The partnership will provide young sailors with an opportunity to pursue an academic education and follow their passion for the water. AEON School offers a digital learning platform designed to meet the needs of student-athletes, helping them balance schedules between sailing and an education.

“AEON and US Sailing are committed to fostering the next generation of leaders, both on the water and in the classroom,” Eric Krasnoo, SVP of membership, partnerships and marketing at US Sailing, said in a statement. “This partnership ensures that sailors can continue that sailors can continue their academic progress while giving space to also focus on sailing, whether it is their performance in training and competition, or their career development to join the marine industry.”

AEON School will provide a flexible education opportunity for competitive junior sailors.

AEON offers students a personalized learning experience with a focus on live, small-group instruction, access to office hours with dedicated faculty and a track record in college placement. Formerly known as Avenues Online, the school has a 12-month academic calendar and serves students from more than 36 countries in six continents.

“At AEON, we recognize that the pursuit of excellence in both academics and athletics plays a pivotal role in shaping our students’ future paths,” said Maggie Wollner, head of school at AEON. “We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will create for talented young sailors, who will join our global community of lifelong learners.”

The partnership with US Sailing will give students opportunities for scholarships, a series of webinars on balancing high-performance athletics with academics and a new website, aeonschool.org/ussailing. AEON representatives will be at the December Junior Olympic Regatta in Jensen Beach, Fla.
