A full weekend of offshore skills

The more time you spend offshore sailing, the more you realize that there's a great deal to learn about operating your boat skillfully and safely. One place to get a concentrated dose of that knowledge is via a Safety at Sea seminar like that planned for March 23 and 24 in Boston. The 2013 Safety at Sea Symposium and Practical Training is sponsored by the Marion Bermuda Cruising Yacht Race and the Marblehead to Halifax Race. The seminar will include a slew of excellent presenters, including Ken McKinley, the weather expert who writes weather articles and a regular email newsletter for Ocean Navigator. You can sign up to get Ken's ON weather newsletter here. There's still time to register for the Safety at Sea seminar, which will be held at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, at 100 Morrissey Blvd., and which will include optional in-the-water training on Sunday.
